Far Fung Places Western Bhutan Travel

Western Bhutan 7 days (Semi Custom)

As the premier expert on this iconic Buddhist nation, Far Fung Places continues to hold the keys to the Kingdom of Bhutan. Come to this beautifully pristine land situated between India and Tibet. The hallmarks of Bhutan are the staggeringly beautiful landscapes, created when the landmasses of Asia and India collided in the Ice Age and formed the precipitous cliffs, craggy mountaintops, and plunging valleys of the eastern Himalayas. Learn about the land and the people of this intriguing destination with the people who know it best—Far Fung Places.

Since 1991 we've been traveling to Bhutan. Join us for a personal journey to the country we call our second home.

The Journey

This new Bhutan program highlights the country's spiritual and cultural traditions. Renowned experts discourse on topics such as Mahayana Buddhism for the western mind, and a talk and a traditional performance by the leading musicologist in Bhutan.

Your special guide and acclaimed country expert is Karchung. You will get a sense of the past with visits to 17th-century monasteries and temples, as well as discover the rhythms of everyday life through his eyes.

This program is best suited for spring or fall, when precipitation is at its lowest and good views of the eastern Himalayas, if the weather is clear.
